Yes, you read that title correctly.
A Finnish man drove his 1996 Subaru Legacy wagon onto the ice during the recent winter, probably to do Finnish stuff like ice fishing or bear catching. When the car was parked the ice cracked, causing the Subaru to sink. The car then stayed under 12 ft of water until now. He recently pulled it out and he’s been given a huge surprise.
After hosing off the ECU with a can of brake cleaner, and drained the gas tank and oil reservoirs of lake water the car started right up. Not only did it start up, he drove it for 12 miles without a problem.
If this isn’t a Subaru ad in the making, I have no idea what the hell is. This is a much better story than those love story commercials they have running right now…
