When you rev up the engine on a gas-powered super car, you hear the power, you hear the engine working. When you rev the engine on an electric car, you hear nothing… nothing at all. The electric car may have power, but it’s nowhere to be heard. Audi has figured out a way to fix this problem, by playing fake electronic sounds through speakers on their electronic cars. This process consists of a guy sitting at a computer, playing with a synthesizer and stepping on a peddle. Electronic cars are supposed to be quite, that is part of their appeal but Audi thinks turning your car into a vehicular Tiesto has great appeal. Check out this video of an R8 demonstrating the idea.
