Japan loves driving boxes.
The statement above is a fact. If you require evidence, then I will present you with the Honda N Box+, a new version of the very popular N Box. How did this car get the name N Box? Well it is in the N series and it is a freaking box. While Americans may hate the idea of driving one of these cars around, people in Japan love it, they eat it up. I, for one, did not mind the Nissan Cube because I thought it was so different looking even though it was a terrible car. It was a bubbly little box that I could drive around in blaring the Pokemon theme song and J-Pop, whilst wearing my Pikachu shirt.
This N Box+ is very different from the Cube, it looks more like the Scion xB which is a much more popular mobile-box in America. The idea behind these cars is that they accommodate diverse customer needs with their spacious interiors and easily customized designs. When Honda was creating the N Box, they had the idea of a “mini mini-van” in mind, which has been very well received by customers.
The N Box+ has many different customizable features like the Scion xB and also comes in two different models: the naturally aspirated FWD version, and the AWD turbo version with paddle shifters. Yes, if you get the latter of the two you will pretty much be driving a turbocharged mini-van with flappy paddle shifters.
Unfortunately Japan fanatics of the USA will have to have one of these shipped over if they would like to own one as they are only available in Japan.
