TechArt’s new GTstreet R kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo or 911 Turbo S is now up to 700 hp in top-tier form, 80 more horsepower than TechArt’s second-best package and 200 hp more than a standard 911 Turbo. The power comes from a modified TA 097/T3 kit, which produced 660 hp as far back as early 2010. Its newfound power equals a 0.1 of a second reduction in the zero-to-62-mph time to 2.8 seconds, which is also 0.6 and 0.3 of a second faster than the 0–60-mph time of the 500-hp 911 Turbo and 530-hp Turbo S. Keep the throttle planted in the Porsche 911 Turbo GTstreet R, and, a little more than six seconds after reaching the 60-mph mark, it will be going 124 mph and on its way to a top speed of 219 mph.
The engine upgrades include proprietary sport air filter, manifolds, turbochargers, intercoolers and reprogrammed engine management system. The program also comes with TechArt’s own VarioPlus coilover suspension, which is based on the electronically adjustable damping system of the 911 Turbo. It allows the ride height to be lowered by nearly an inch and the selection of two different damper settings: “Normal” and “Sport.” In either setting, the suspension will grow firmer if it senses spirited driving for an even better balance between comfortable driving and responsive handling. The suspension will also rise by nearly 2.4 inches to transverse ramps, speed humps, and curbs. It will then automatically lower once speeds of 37 mph are reached.
These performance enhancements are wrapped in a radical aerodynamically enhanced TechArt body kit to complete the GTstreet R package. (via duPont REGISTRY)
