A terrible accident occurred very early on Saturday morning in Singapore.
At an intersection where six accidents have happened in the past 12 days, a man driving a 599 GTO took 3 lives including his own.
The driver, a Chinese businessman Ma Chi, was driving his Ferrari 599 GTO at a very high rate of speed when he closed in on the intersection of Rochor Road and Victoria Street.
Two taxis were stopped at the intersection, until the light turned green. The two taxis went about their business, going through the intersection, one leading the other. The taxi that lead the way was struck in the side by by the speeding 599 GTO that ran the red light. The collision caused the taxi to collide with a passing motorcycle and was so strong that the engine to the taxi was found 30m away from the vehicle.
Police received calls about the accident at around 4:15am. Both of the drivers had to be extricated by the Singapore Civil Defense Force. There driver of the Ferrari was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger in the Ferrari sustained head injuries, but did survive.
The motorcyclist sustained spinal injuries but is expected to make a recovery.
The cab driver sustained head injuries but died in the hospital. The taxi’s female passenger was found unconscious and died in the hospital.
